Here is another photo where you can see the canopy “break-line” which extended over the entire grounds. Many trees were lost in entirety. Every effort was made to salvage the trees that could be saved by trimming back or by digging out the root bases and standing them upright again. The tropical palm trees are amazingly resilient and many withstood much of the wrath of Hurricane Wilma. It was the deciduous hardwoods, Ficus, Rainbow Eucalyptus and Bamboo stands that sustained the greatest damage.
