Mohaun - Hello Exclamation How many tigers can you have Question How many can you afford to FEED Question Twisted Evil Wink
To house large carnivorous animals and provide life-long homes is a major undertaking.

In answer to your questions about raising Siberian Tigers here is a link from the State of Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission that gives exact size and dimension requirements for housing exotic felines:

http://myfwc.com/codebook/2006/68A_Freshwater_Fish_and_Wildlife.pdf

This is a .pdf file (Portable Downloadable File) that opens using Acrobat Reader and it takes a minute to transmit. Within Florida Statute S68.A-6.004 (Page 241) you will find the "caging requirements" for African Lions and Tigers. The minimum space acceptable only requires a 24 ft x 10 ft x 8 ft. enclosure for ONE OR FOR TWO ANIMALS, with a mere increase of 25% for each additional animal Crying or Very sad

Very sad. At TigerHomes, the animals are given considerably more space Cool

To find Legislative Policies and Requirements for other States click on this excellent link provided by Big Cat Rescue:

http://www.bigcatrescue.org/statelawsexoticcats.htm

For Bottle Feeding Formula and Hand Raising Siberian Tigers, Five Tigers (a tiger news portal website) gives basic formulas for feeding baby tigers, weight and growth measures and other points on tiger husbandry within this article:

http://www.tigerlink.org/husbandry/husman6.htm

Please let us know if this helps ~ perhaps you are planning on becoming a "Wildlife Keeper" or working on a school project. As
keykey said, please take a minute to introduce yourself in our Welcome Thread for new members and tell us how you became interested in Siberian Tigers.

Dave and Jason can answer questions in more detail if you need more information. For now, please feel free to ask us in the Forum and someone here will try to help you.

Welcome to TigerHomes Exclamation

I beleive working with 1 in a Zoo is almost better than privately owning 1 or 2 or 6.

Tigers can cost $5,000 or sometimes $10,000 on food and the vet bill can expensive.

You are responcible for what you tame.

Mohaun - this is wonderful news to hear that you care about the animals enough
to have your dreams set on a Sanctuary. Dave can tell you firsthand it is a LOT OF
WORK to care for the animals. We have some members who already have volunteered
to help and are doing an excellent job and they let us know what it is like to work
with the animals.

I really do hope you will find time to post in the Welcome ~ Meet New Members thread.
Hoping you will tell us a little about where you live, your interests, and how you came
to find TigerHomes Sanctuary on the internet.

We welcome new members Exclamation
It would be great for us to have a chance to meet you.
Cool
