Arrow State Pulse: Uttarakhand: Feline terror
report of Archi Rastogi, Udham Singh Nagar (Central Chronicle)
February 22, 2007

Quote:
Fear stalks people in Chanda Bhudaria village in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district. A tigress attacked Jagannath Singh, when he went to defecate on the dusk of January 15, 2007. Jagannath, who is 65 and infirm, was using the field next to his home, adjacent to the village road. Ten days before this, Naro Devi of neighbouring Chhoti Bakulia village was killed when she had gone to collect firewood in the forest; Geeta Devi of Dumgarha-also in Udham Singh Nagar-had also gone to the forest for firewood when she was grievously injured.

This story brings to the forefront the sad reality that big cats all over the world are facing as their habitats shrink, forcing them into closer contact with humans. In some instances -- we diminish their habitat for our own use -- then we go into that habitat for our own purposes. If a big cat attacks a human that has wandered into that already diminished habitat -- it will likely be killed. Just doesn't seem fair!

Thoughts? Idea Ideas for a solution?

Humans moan about wild cats attacking villages and so on, but people are destroying wild cats habitats, and so the poor animals are basically driven in to villages because they have nowhere to live. if they stay in there old habitat, they will die because their food source is running out, and if the go into villages, they will get shot! where can they go?

Crying or Very sad Sad Mad Evil or Very Mad

dont know about you guys, but from where im standing, its murder.
