You've got to see the size of that big male leopard as it is being carried off Can't imagine seeing him on the streets. But that is exactly what happened in this story after the big leopard wandered into the city, and frightened and confused -- lashed out attacking and injuring three people. He was captured and later placed in a zoo.
|“Probably the leopard entered the city in search of food from a nearby hillock,†the warden said.
Hundreds of people gathered in the area as a team of wildlife officials and veterinarians took about three hours to locate the leopard.
“We have seen leopards straying out of their habitat and entering the city in the past although there have not been many incidents of attacks,†Mahanta said.
The full grown male leopard was wandering through a part of the densely populated city when curious crowds startled the animal, a wildlife warden said.
