I was trying to google around, and can't remember the site where they had the amount of tigers in certain states....i think texas had some unbelieve number (guestimate few thousand) tigers in private ownership i.e. as pets in texas alone. Anyone have some #'s?

Have no clue as to the number, but I CAN say, it's probably TOO MANY! And I'm sure there are quiet afew around that people don't know about. I will never for the life of me understand why someone would want a tiger for a pet. I love them as well and have a major passion for wildlife, but would never want to put that kind of stress on a "wild" animal. And of course, that does not include the ones at Tigerhomes! These are not pets here! TigerDave is providing a home for his and has their enclosures made to look and feel like the land they were born to roam in. I thank my lucky stars everyday that Dave is giving these animals a safe and forever home. Wink Laughing

Yep your right there Pam with Daves love and attention for these animals at Tigerhomes are at least treated with the respect and admiration they deserve not as some sideshow or status symbol.
About the total in Captivity I have read somewhere that there are more Tigers in captivity in America than there are Tigers living free in the whole world that I think tells you alot of how Humans are changing this beautiful world of ours

I just discovered this site today Smile Loki is a great name for a cat Smile My kitten's name is Loki in fact. The Viking god of mischief. What I have seen so far makes me believe that both Loki's are living up to their names Smile
