Was sent this today by a friend and I wanted to share it.

THE BIRTH OF A HUMMINGBIRD
This is truly amazing. Be sure to click on NEXT
PAGE at the bottom of each page; there are 5 pages in all. A lady found a
hummingbird nest and got pictures all the way from the egg to leaving the
nest. Took 24 days from birth to flight. Because you'll probably never in
your lifetime see this again, enjoy; and please share.

That is such an amazing collection of pictures! Lucky lady! Hummers nesting in the yard....ahhhhh!(AND the ability and patience to get those shots!) The most amazing thing, I thought, was the final picture with a PENNY Shocked on a toothpick for the size comparison. Talk about teenie-tiny. That was SO cool Exclamation Cool

Awww, they are so beautiful and tiny. What a blessing that lady has to have been able to witness the whole experiance first hand. Nothing more wonderful than watching babies grow up be their your own or someone elses. Even more special when it's wild animals/bird ect as it's something most people don't ever get to see in real life.

Mali - thanks for bringing this thread back to life. These are some of the best nature photos I have ever seen. Have to admit - it was a surprise at first to see the toothpick and the penny for size comparison.

It is still amazing to me to see just how TINY the hummingbirds are and the 12x zoom shots here are excellent enough to watch the "differential refraction of light waves" or iredescent Twisted Evil feather coloring emerging Exclamation

Thanks for taking time to bring this one back Cool
