The Sanctuary is not only a beautiful, peaceful place for these animals. It teaches us the value of a what it means to make a lifetime commitment. It is living testimony to the sheer power of what can be created by one Man's vision to protect and preserve what rightly belongs here. Through this dedication and that of the off-camera team, we learn that each of us can make a difference. We can each learn to incorporate these values into our own lifes to do as much as we can for the animals, for us, and for our children to help make this world a better place for all of us. For what we do the animals we so do to ourselves. AGREED |

Hiya, Piper......lucky you! Points from THE BOSS! You have my vote too. Good stuff having all the B.D.'s listed like that. Maybe we can all 'chip in' to get them Big Cat Birthday Cakes! (Just kidding! ) Marcan is up first, huh? Hmmm, what kind of present would a large tiger want? Am thinking I'll have to send him at least Food for a Day!
Has anybody warned Alex that he loses points for being absent? New rule. Made it up myself--of course, it has nothing to do with trying to gain an advantage or anything. haha Seriously, ALEX WHERE ARE YOU???? You are going to be needing Piper's help by the time you return. Piper may just show us all up here! (I DO hope that you and your's weathered the weather OK--same for everyone else that happened to be in the path of the storms--lots of people busy busy trying to get back to 'normal' in the after-effects)
Wow! that worked! It actually went in ok...........my first attempt at animating....I'll get better, I promise! |

Oh,gee, thanks you guys for the nice comments. I was actually trying for an avatar but couldn't reduce the KB down enough to use for that--try, try again. I have some ideas on that...we'll see what happens.
UhOh Piper, you may just have hit on the reason Alex hasn't shown up lately...........he's going to pop in any day now with something so COOL it's going to blow us all out of the water! And here we've just been lazing around waiting when there are points to be made!! Well, we're on to your scheme, now, Alex.....tricky, tricky. The rest of us better get busy working on extra credit. We'll need it to catch up. Demerits or no, his past accomplishments are going to be hard to top, let alone any surprises he may be plotting to spring on us. Putting on the thinking cap as we speak........hold on tight to that crown, Sam, Alex may be preparing to snag it!
First FULL day of fall....yesterday was the equinox.........waning daylight hours.........have you noticed how much earlier it gets too dark to see into the habitats? Arghhh! when Daylight Savings Time goes away it is always such a shock and that's coming soon......on that note, I am going NOW to the cams |

Hahaha....have been waiting for you to notice. Knew you would! Only since last night. Sure didn't take you long I like the play on SoFla. Weird comes naturally, been saying 'thank you' for years when someone tells me I am. More fun.
So right about the BW lemurs. They are such a riot! Saw Dave in there earlier with a hammer fixing the platform and I swear they are more curious than cats. Noses into everything he was doing. SO inquisitive and funny! They kept checking out that hammer and I could picture him bringing them all little lemur-sized ones so they could help. What energy they have Samurai, indeed. They really go at it, don't they? |

Dave & Jason, love the support links you added to the cams. Great idea!!
Gotta tell everyone a funny story about Max. Last night I dropped a frozen blueberry on the floor in the kitchen. WELL, you would have thought I let a tiger in the house He'd touch it, jump 2 feet in the air, touch it again, hiss at it, then jump again. He must have been able to feel that it was cold and it freaked him out. I wish I had a video camera but I was laughing so hard I probably wouldn't have been able to film it anyway |
