|
|
Quote: | Science Daily — An arachnaphobe’s worst nightmare, the gauzy, insect-laden web drew more than 3,300 curious visitors over the three-day holiday to this 376-acre park on the shore of Lake Tawakoni, 50 miles east of Dallas. On Labor Day, the park recorded 1,275 people visiting just to see the web. |
An arachnaphobe’s worst nightmare... yes, yes that would be me!
No money on this earth would get me to go visit this!
But I must say, a very interesting article though, I'm just happy that it's in Texas, and NOT where I live.

Don't look now keykey but just WHERE did you say you lived???

Ok.......sorry! Couldn't resist that one.
Seriously, I'd love to witness this phenomenon first hand. Fascinating! I gather that it's rather an unusual number of different types of spiders contributing to this particular web. wow again.
Quote: | Entomology Department researcher Allen Dean identified 11 spider families from the sample. |
I did see this on the web last week but lost the link so thank you for posting it here. _________________ "When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." ~John Muir~ |

I don't think we have them here... at least I have never seen one.
But... I'll tell you what, you'll hear me screaming if I do! _________________ Remember the "Golden Rule" of treading into nature:

CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING FROM HERE!!!!!
No way....it looks like its been knitted!
Not sure I would go to see that, I'd be afraid of how many spiders occupied the premises and how many were strolling back from the park!!
Thanks ........I think keykey for sharing the story!! _________________ I LIVE TO LOVE TIGERHOMES!! |
