How to Use Avatars - Instructions - PHPBB

This page explains How to Use Avatars in the Tigerhomes.org PHPBB Discussion Forums.

Note: Avatars should be no larger than 80 x 80 pixels. If you have any trouble uploading an avatar e-mail us or post your question in the forum. CLICK HERE TO SEE ANIMAL WEBCAMS

SIX EASY STEPS :

1. Log into the tigerhomes.org forum (If you do not have an account go ahead and sign-up)

2. Once you have logged in, click on the top link "Profile"

3. Inside your profile you will be able to edit your personal settings. Scroll down to the last section called "Avatar Control Panel"

4. You will see three areas where you can enter avatar information. The last area is called "Link to Off-Site Avatar". Here is where you will enter the URL (location) of the avatar you want to use. URL locations usually have an "http://www." prefix Step #5 explains how to get the URL for a specific avatar.

5. How to retrieve the avatar URL: Right Click the Avatar you would like to display. When the properties display just copy the URL and paste into your profile!

In this example I want to use a Bat Avatar of a flying fox. So what I did was right clicked on the image from this page and chose "Properties" to get the URL http://www.tigerhomes.org/animal/images/avatars/flying-fox.jpg and highlighted + right click copy + paste it into the box shown in the example. Or just write down the URL and type it in.

6. The last part is clicking on "Submit" to upload the image.
