February
and March have proven to be very exciting months here at the
Tiger Homes Sanctuary!
So much activity taking place with-in our carefully designed
animal
habitats.
As most of you are aware, David and I pride ourselves on our
ability to create enriching Habitats for the
animals in our care. These naturalistic environments stimulate natural
behaviors which
in turn results in happy healthy animals that reproduce. Baby
lemurs are
the ultimate husbandry complement any zoo keeper can receive
that is in charge of their care.
In the last two months, we have had five Baby Lemurs born on
the Sanctuary grounds. As you can imagine, David and I are going
to
need your help again naming all the babies. In typical Tiger Homes
tradition, we will be having a Name The Babies contest.
We will need your help naming two baby Black & White Ruffed Lemurs
born to Echo and Ihop as well as three baby Ringtailed Lemurs.
As I am sure all of you are aware, the rate of Habitat Destruction
in Madagascar is at a critical level.
If things do not drastically improve soon, their will be no wild
lemurs remaining. David and
I are extremely fortunate to work with such remarkable animals
every day. We are thrilled to expose the public on their charm
and plight in the wild in the hopes of spreading an interest in
the protection of their wild habitats.
