All species of tigers are endangered as reported by *CITES and protected under
Appendix 1 of CITES, Endangered Species Act.

Appendix I lists species threatened with extinction and CITES generally prohibits commercial international trade in these specimens. However, trade may be allowed only under exceptional circumstances, e.g. for scientific research. (All wildcats are listed on CITES Appendix I or II).
