The Educational Video Series Is Now Available

Well, the long anticipated DVD’s in our “Educational Video Series” are finally here!!!! Needless to say, David, Donnie, Alex (our newest team member in charge of “Traffic Generation”), and myself are extremely FIRED UP! As most of you are aware, this has been a long time coming! David and I have been working on the Sanctuaries’, “Educational Video Series”, for a very long time now and for obvious reasons are very excited to actually have them in inventory and available for sale via our Gift Shop.

As mentioned in the January 2004 “Sanctuary Chronicle”, we are deeply involved in our latest project of “Traffic Generation & Website Refinements”. We are anticipating the bulk of the changes to be underway in the beginning of March 2004. At this time, we will be adding the “Educational Video Series” to our GIFT SHOP. If nothing else, David & I would love for our viewers to at least show their support by purchasing the DVD’s. It is also a great way to actually meet David and I and to grasp our passion for wildlife education and conservation 1st hand. Remember, the Sanctuary cares for 7 adult tigers, 2 adult lions, a Gazillion lemurs, and a host of other big and small felines, reptiles, and primates housed “OFF CAMERA”! Allot of mouths to feed, and upkeep which in turn means A LOT of MONEY so, please show your support. While it is so nice to receive e-mail after e-mail from all of you exclaiming your joy, love and increased knowledge base derived from our web site; we drastically need your “HELP” !!!

On with the next good news! David and I have had some strong feelings lately that a few of the female lemurs are pregnant. We never like to rant and rave about these predictions because not only does it get peoples hopes up, but is bad karma J. Well, long story short, on February 14 (Valentine’s Day), two of the Ring-tailed lemurs gave birth. One female had twins while the other had one infant. All three babies are doing great, and we have already received some fantastic “Snap Shots” from viewers taken from the web-cams. You are going to love our newly formatted photo “GALLERY”, allowing viewers to submit their “Snap Shots”.

The babies are showing great signs of weight gain and are reaching all developmental timelines like clockwork. The mothers are exhibiting fantastic maternal care as well as the other members of the troop, which can’t seem to get enough of the babies. There is no better time to make social and behavioral observations via the web-cams then now! The entire political and behavioral environment transforms drastically with the introduction of new members to their society! Take extra care to observe these behaviors, remembering the fact that you are viewing highly endangered animals in a naturalistic, social & physical environment! You could easily capture a behavior never seen or documented before.

Before I end this Chronicle, I want to tease you all with one more bit of information J.
We have another species of lemur(s) we think if all goes well will be giving birth next month. As always, we need your support and keep on watching and learning.

Remember, there are many ways to help the cause. Here are a few.

1) Tell everyone you know about the website. By increasing the number of visitors, we increase the awareness of the danger these wonderful creatures face.
2) If you have a website, link to us - http://www.tigerhomes.org/
3) Submit our site http://www.tigerhomes.org/ to any webcam sites you may visit.
4) Make a donation to the sanctuary. There is an area on the gift shop for those who want to contribute.
5) Purchase items from the gift shop. They make great gifts and are for a worthy cause.
6) Adopt a pet. It's a great way to virtually own one of the sanctuary animals.

Remember, our main mission is to spread an interest in saving wild animals and wild places but we can't do it alone.
